Business promotions without internet approval
The Gaming Control Board distinguishes genuine business-objective sweepstakes from gambling and requires a no-purchase alternative where entry is purchase-linked. That recognizes a promotional category, not a blanket endorsement of ongoing casino-style websites.
The contrary internet-gambling statement must remain visible when that category is discussed. A postal route alone does not demonstrate the legitimate business purpose or settle the consideration and prize design of a continuous dual-currency operation.

12.2.2 NMAC supplies game-promotion definitions and disclosure requirements rather than a casino authorization.
The 12.2.2 NMAC game-promotion rules supply definitions and consumer disclosure requirements. Clear disclosures matter, but they are not an online-casino authorization. The Board’s other regulatory responsibilities should likewise not be extended to unrelated websites without evidence.
This baseline permits a conditional factual comparison of published operator eligibility, with entry, age and redemption conditions retained. Such a list describes the operators’ rules. It does not call them Board-approved or assert that their complete product structure has received a favorable New Mexico determination.
This baseline establishes no such approval. The Board’s promotion distinction and its statement about internet gambling must both remain in view; published admission terms are a separate policy fact.
What does 12.2.2 NMAC establish?
It sets out game-promotion definitions and disclosure requirements. Compliance with those requirements cannot be treated as independent permission for an otherwise unauthorized internet casino.
New Mexico’s conditional comparison depends on honest attribution. Describe operator eligibility without converting promotion guidance or disclosure compliance into regulatory endorsement.
